| Hi... Im Dirk... I just owned a african lovebird and planning to handfed them. I guess this site can help me a lot when it comes to handfeeding. Admin, you're handfeeding you're parrot also? can you give me some advice? Is it better to handfed an african love bird every 3 hours or as you stated every 6-8 hours? pls help...

| african love bird or african gray parrot? Mga baby pa ba yan? kasi kung hindi na yan mga baby, mahirapan ka na mg.hand feed nyan tulad sa mga indian ring neck ko... I just got it 2 days ago and i don't know what to do because they are not that eating because I am still in the phase of observing them if they will survive with their new environment with me and my place...

i hand feed my pet birds every 6-8 hours or as needed.. kung binili mo lang sa petshop o kung saan yung alaga mo, dapat tanungin mo kung ilang months na sila.. sakin kasi, 3-5 months ko sila start hine-handfeed..hinahayaan ko muna na yung mommy bird magpalaki sila..
pwede po naman na kahit hindi 6-8 hrs, you just have to pay attention to the crop of your pet..pag empty yan magiingay sila usually, sign yun ng very healthy chick..pag puno pa yung crop, wag mo muna siya pakainin kahit pa lagpas na sa 8 hrs, kung empty naman kahit wala pang 6-8 hrs, pwede mo na xang pakainin basta wag mong pipilitin, kusa lang..

| Hi everyone! Gosh, I'm such a latecomer. But anyway, I'm from Parañaque and have 3 budgerigars. I used to have two (Skippy & Coco) a few days ago but Skippy escaped. So I got 2 very young budgies from Cartimar (NCR) for Coco but I don't think he is interested in them. One of them is so young that I have started to hand-rear him with Cerelac because my original budgie would not feed him by regurgitating. This young chick i named "Hedwig" begs for food from Coco and my other unnamed budgie but avoids him and sometimes hisses at him and hits him with his beak, leaving the poor chick very hungry all the time. Hedwig has started to show interest in seeds but he doesnt seem to be strong enough to crack them yet so I have resorted to hand rearing him and serving cracked seeds which I've crushed with a blender. I hope he survives Anyway, I think that's top much of an intro. I hope this community is still active as I have only gotten into taking care of birds.
